I usually kept my login to this forum intact, but now I am constantly having to re-login. I've deleted the cookie for this forum, and checked "remember", plus when FF asks to remember the login, I click "remember", but none of that is working. What to do? I'm using FF 3.0.8.

Things are definitely starting to get hinkey around here... logins not being retained, blank screens when posting or trying to jump to the last unread message in a thread...
It's at this point that I'm starting to get really frustrated at the months-long over-run in Invision Power's projected release date for IPB 3.0, because I've put off development and adjustments in anticipation of moving the whole site to 3.0 as soon as possible without wasting more time and effort getting things done with the current 2.3.x releases as well. I was expecting based on their statements that we'd already be running the new release here by now (even accounting for the time needed to re-write the forum/site/archive/library integration), but it's still in beta testing (and if there's one thing my history of running DPWR has taught me, it's never use a beta product in production

). Being a developer myself, I can understand the delays, but that has no bearing on my displeasure at them.
I'll see if I can do some digging to figure out what's going on.

Thanks AL, sorry to be a pain...seems like I might be the only one having this problem?

No, you're definitely not the only one... I think the duct tape and bailing twine I used to hold this place together after the last update has started falling apart, because things definitely aren't acting normally.

Cool...I mean, I'm sorry that others are having issues too.

Everytime Firefox comes out with (yet) another update, I cross my fingers hoping that it will fix the problem, but alas no go.

It's not a Firefox problem. I'm here with IE 7 and it has taken me about 15 minutes to get to where I can reply. Blank screens, had to log in twice.

I have a sneaking suspicion that it's either the result of a change in how DPWR's hosting is configured (which seems to be common across all servers, given the fact that the problem still exists, and in which case we may be SOL until IPB 3 comes out), or (probably more likely) there's some residual damage left over from a hack attempt.
I'm going to be running some tests for the rest of this week on my local machine with the development copy of the site to see if I can just re-upload the original dev stuff without having to do any twiddling to make everything work first (shoddy code management practices FTL!). Once I get that testing done, I'll do some additional on-server testing in a separate location and THEN, once that's done, move the files to the live server.

Update:
I believe the problems we're having at the moment are a result of the aftermath of a previous hack attempt here on the site, which while being scrubbed, also removed important code that makes the site, y'know... work.
The good news is that since this is a software problem and not a hosting issue, I can quickly get things back to normal around here as soon as I get home tonight. I need to double-check the fixes on a test site here on the server since it also entails an upgrade to the latest versions of Invision Board and Invision Gallery, but that shouldn't take long to do, and we should be back to kickin' it like the good old days by tomorrow.
As an added bonus, the registration CAPTCHA will work again too. Hooray for potential new members that aren't spam!

Update again:
Fixed! There may be a couple of things that are slightly different as a result of the upgrade, like the navigation breadcrumb missing the "DPWR.NET" crumb at the start of the chain, and the Gallery's image full-view functionality being a bit different, but the important stuff, like registration, posting, and staying logged in (as well as the "view last post" thingamabobbers) are now all working.
Yay!
