Victor Laxman continues to communicate with other members of the DRC. What does his latest message mean? Here it is in full -

We all agree that the scattering of people still visting the cavern is problematic. I have a proposal I'd like to discuss with you both, and it would be great if there was some way to make sure Engberg were here as well.

I'd like to set this up ASAP. Tomorrow?

Sounds to me like they (DRC) want to regain their control over the access to, and activities within, the cavern.

Looks like a whole lot of nothing to me. In all the DRC posts on that site, they have said absolutely nothing about the future of Uru or UU.

I think I'll pass on trying to guess what they mean.

The DRC site, being in-character, never mentions the game or the technical aspects of connecting to it. The whole thing is treated as an extension of the game world, so everything on the DRC site is spoken of as though it were a series of real events. While we may see Victor and company discussing what is to be done in/with the cavern in the future, there will never be a mention of Until Uru or Uru Live made on the DRC site.

I know that, Al. My point was the people are reading a lot of information into the cryptic posts that's just not there.

Well I mean it's all relative, isn't it? They must know that we'd all start speculating, and if they didn't want the rumours, even in-character, they could say something about it more conclusively. If it were to be to close stuff down, that is. If it's for a future in UU or something like that, why wouldn't they talk like this? it could be to stall to gain our interest so if they launch something, a lot of people will be listening in when it happens, or it could be because they're actually not finished working something out.

It's a lot of speculation, true, but it's far from nothing...

The DRC is just doing what they have been doing ever since they surfaced on the web (pardon the pun). But the best explanation of what has been happening over there came from Zardoz when IMForman asked in a thread

Zardoz replied Good to hear from you, IMF. Let's just say the information/speculation ratio is quite small and can be approximated by the ratio of the number of new posts in the DRC Discussion forum (5) to the number of posts on the other two forums (1590 as of this reply). You do the math.

Here are all the facts we know:

1) Victor fell asleep on his keyboard, producing an incomprehensible message.
2) Waking up, he apparently spilled his coffee, producing another incomprehensible message.
3) Victor then tried to contact other members of the DRC because "some guy" had some questions ("What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?" is one possibility . . . ); Marie replied.
4) Victor had ribs for lunch and tossed us the leftover bones.
Other than that, it's been the Battle of the ResEngs, who apparently are not ready to rumble.
