What happens when you open the outer shield in Narayan before the inner shield?

It's been a long time since I played Exile, so my memory may be faulty. You can't open the outer shield first, the information you need to open the outer shield is on the other side of the inner shield.

If you were to open the outer whield, you would have to switch the power first, thus only the outer shield would open.


I wonder if saavedro would arrive though, he switches the power, like to see what happens if he finds out you only opened the outer shield.

I tried opening it. You can't make symbols in the thingy until the inner shield is open.
