It's a long story.
The main problem was that we (Cyan) were not personally involved in any
of the negotiations between them, so we only know what we've been told
(which hasn't been much).
It's turned into a he said/she said kind of thing with both parties
pointing the finger at the other. Our first statement (the PS in
particular) mainly pointed the finger at the physics engine developer.
They felt that was unfair, and asked us to amend the statement. We did,
based on the further information they provided. Ubi then contacted us
giving us more of their side of the story.
Frankly, we don't have time to keep updating the status of this soap
opera, and assigning blame really wasn't the point of our statement -
we just wanted to let the Mac folks know that the Mac version of Uru
has been cancelled.
So... we decided to simplify our statement, just sticking to what I
think both of them can agree are the facts:
1) A Mac version of Uru was in the works
2) there is no Mac version of the physics engine
3) the Mac version of Uru was canceled.
If Ubi and the physics engine developer feel the need to argue about
who's to blame for point #2, they are certainly free to do that on
their own time.
