As many of you have no doubt noticed, things are back to what may be deemed "normal" around here. The server transfer has been completed and if you're reading this message, you've arrived at the new location. As a result of the server move, there are a few things to mention, including
new features.
- New Gallery - As promised far too long ago, the gallery system has been completely replaced. The new script runs much faster, is tied much more closely into the look of the rest of the site, and, in my opinion, is much easier to get the hang of. Please note that all members are still permitted to send in new images to all game-related galleries. The submission settings may need a little bit of adjustment still, but things should be ironed out fairly quickly. Also, as an added benefit of the new gallery, I can also announce this:
- New user album controls - All members of DPWR have a 25-image album which they are welcome to create at any time. To do this, go to your Control Panel and click "View Albums" in the menu to the left. Once there, click the link to create your first album and you're on your way. If you need any assistance with this new feature, please contact me through Private Message. Additionally, it's much easier to see another person's gallery: just open the blue tray beside any member's post and click on the picture frame.
There are plans currently underway to allow additional album creation and image storage for those who desire it. Please note that these album restrictions do not affect upload limits on the forum, or in the Image Submission sections of the site, which will shortly be transferred to the Gallery, as the focus is on the image, not the text 
. - E-mails - I know a number of people have had problems in the past with getting notifications from the site due to email blacklists having our old IP on their block list for some incomprehensible reason. With the move to the new server, I am hoping that these problems have been resolved. Those members who have requested email notification of topics and PMs should now be able to receive them.
- Newsletter - In addition to hopefully no longer being on email server blacklists, I'm toying with the idea of an opt-in newsletter, which would detail new developments in the community, as well as some of the latest and most important Myst series news. If you have any suggestions for this newsletter or would like to help organize and create it, please send me a PM to discuss it.
Staff additions - My thanks to those who have thus far applied for staff positions here. I'm looking things over and will likely be making announcements in the next week or so. If you're still interested in applying but haven't done so yet, there's still time! Send me an email or a PM before Friday and I'll be sure to put you in the stack . - Subscriptions - Plans are also underway to introduce a new service on DPWR, tentatively called DPWR+. This will be a paid subscription, and is totally optional. I also wish to stress that there will not be, now or at any time in the future, any restrictions on the features you currently enjoy as members of the website. "Plus" accounts will be incredibly cheap ($5/month at the absolute most), nothing like the $29/month that sites like DeviantArt charge, and as I said before, free accounts will never be crippled, as DeviantArt and other subscription sites have taken to doing. I've decided to implement this kind of service because in the past, people have expressed a desire to help the site, and I'm hoping that this will be one way for them to do so.
Once again I want to stress that subscrbing to a "Plus" account is entirely optional, and the services offered to those who sign up will be in addition to the vast number of options, settings, and features currently available to free members. I also want to stress that this system will not exclude free members from receiving new features and abilities when the site is upgraded later this year. This is just something I'm working on as a way of allowing people to donate to the site if they wish to, with a small "thank you" in return. If you are interested in this service and wish to suggest a feature you would be willing to pay for, please send me a PM.
