You can request an invitation here, then use the information on the invite to log into the D'mala Shard. You'll need to provide your regular home email address, probably best to type it in a format (here) like myname AT whatever DOT com or something like that, to avoid any spam bots that sift through these pages.

Edit: Once you get your invitation (with a key number) go to THIS UU ACTIVATION SITE and type your number in. You should have instructions on the invite email itself.

Quick question: I just got around to setting up until uru, but I'm having a problem creating a character. Each time I type in the information, it says "Invitation not found." I got an invite from Kaloran, and I was wondering if anyone had any idea what was wrong. Maybe I spelled Kaloran's name wrong? Help!

Sometime it say the invitation is invalid but just proceed as noting happend and you should be abel to log on to D'mala shard anyway.

If you are done with installation and are trying to create your character...
It's been a while since I first set up UU, but I thought I remember going straight to the login popup, where you put

login name
password
D'mala Shard
dmalashard@cyanworks.com

then when you get to player, you select create new

or am I completely misunderstanding (again)?

Please disregard this stuff...

Is Kaloran your login name?

or the name for the character (avatar) you are trying to create?

I'm Kaloran. My username's Kaloran on UU, and so's my character name. And that's how you spell my name, so you haven't got it wrong. Good luck with getting it to work...

Just a thought. The invitation that Smooferoo received from Kaloran doesn't go on the login screen, it goes on Cyan's registration page. The invitation field on the login screen is an invitation to join someone's hood when you first log in rather than being assigned to a default hood first. Could it be that Smooferoo is trying to put the invitation stuff in the wrong place?

Thanks for all the help everyone!

I got it to work. For some reason it wasn't accepting Kaloran's invitation on the create a character screen. It ended up working when I didn't type in the invitation and pass code. How odd... but it works now so I'm going to get to play until uru! Yay! See you all in the cavern.
