Hello, I'm new here but I've been scouring the archives for information about my problem.

I have done the full install of Myst III Exile on my system. I'm running XP Home and have a 1 Gig processor with an 80 Gig hard drive and 384 Mg's of RAM. When installing I tried to install the DirectX drivers but the machine wouldn't let me as that program doesn't run on Windows NT. I have tried all the compatibility modes and have installed the Ubi 1.2 patch. When I try to start Exile it keeps telling me to insert a the CD-ROM but it's already there. I've tried taking it out and re-starting but to no avail. Any ideas?

By the way, my system runs Riven and the old Myst just fine.

I believe it's an NVIDIA RIVA TNT. The sound card is Creative Audio ES 1370. Hmmm...

Finaly found my Myst III CDs. I have the same problem, but I think I know what's causing it. I have 4 partitions, and I think that Myst III runs only when CD is set to D: or E:. Am I right or not? confused.gif

Hi, I have the same problem with Exile. I am sure I have played it on XP, but now it won't install. I checked my programs and Myst lll is in there, but it won't let me uninstall it. It's in add/remove programs, but when I click on remove, nothing happens. Now I can't install over it. I tried Myst 1, and it installed ok, but when I came to play, it was upsidedown. I have not tried installing Riven on XP yet. I have Schizm and that installs and plays great. I have played and finished this game about 4 times now, but the puzzle that gets me tearing my hair out is the bringing up of the two bridges, the two puzzles that you have to do twice! Oh yes, and how do I delete saved games on schizm? I have just ordered Myst Uru, I hope this game is OK.[QUOTE] All games are not equal!

Hi, I sorry to hear about your problem. By any chance are you a user of gametap? I also had the same problem but a friend of mine said why don't you just upload it from game tap ( thats if you have a paid subscription )

Poof all my problems were solved, And I don't have to exchange disk every time you start up

Gee I hope I made sense
