Hello everyone. I'm pleased to announce the launch of a new contest at DPWR. Prizes are still being finalized, but I didn't want to hold off making the announcement just for that (and yes, there will be prizes).
The Guildmasters running the Archive are currently being overwhelmed by the amount of material now available in Uru and Uru: To D'ni, as well as the large backlog of information in the existing Myst games and novels. We need your help to get the Archive up-to-date!
Starting today, and running through the end of April, any person who contributes new material to the Information Archive will be entered to win the contest. Depending on the prizes, we may also have one or more runners-up, but as I said, prizes aren't finalized yet.
The more entries you write, the more times you are entered to win, so get writing! We could use anything you've got: journal transcripts, speech transcripts, Age descriptions, place descriptions, character bios, creatures... you name it, we need it. If you are creating new content, you can also attach an image to your entry. All images must be no larger than 250 pixels wide (over 250 pixels in height is permissible). If you want to send in an image for an entry that has already been created by someone else, please email it to alahmnat@dpwr.net. Entries may also come in the form of information appended to an existing Archive entry.
All entrants will need to register for DPWR to participate. This is required for two reasons: 1) you can only post to the Archive if you are a member, and 2) in order to contact you in the event that you win, we will need a valid email address. Please be aware that DPWR does not sell your email addresses, nor are they publically available for other people or bots to steal or sell. Your email address is private and secure, but we do need to have it to contact you if you win.
After registering, please head to
http://www.dpwr.net/archive.php and select the appropriate category to submit your entry (the form to do this is at the bottom of the page).
This contest is open to all community members on all forums and mailing lists, even if I have to mail prizes to other countries myself.
Let's get Archiving!
