Myst objects, Objects of rivenesqe style

Hello my name is alex and i have always wanted to have a company that produces objects such as those books you guys have made. To make it seem like you lived there, stuff to enhance your role playing experience. They would be stuff like, Furniture, Lamps, Books, quills, clothing, goggles, Weapons (for show not to acctually hurt anyone 
) etc. And these objects would be in the same style as riven prefrebly (i mean how cool would it be if your room looked like ghen's study?) This would be a project that would take a number of people to accomplish and they would sell these things for quite a lot of money. It hasn't happened yet, but anyone who wants to help with ideas, insight or wants to acctually help make these things. REMEMBER these would have to be well made! NON ELECTRONIC mechanical only! Sketch some stuff out and post it here if you like. Also remember to make up your own objects, write your own worlds!

You would have to get Cyan's permission to sell the Riven products...

If i understand right, it's in the Riven/D'ni STYLE, which doesn't necessarily have
to be from the game itself. So then you wouldn't need anybodies permission...

Wait a sec. So just making a link book, ANY link book
(that is , not one copied from the game) falls under their control???
Its a concept i am copying, not an object like the dni letters n numbers.....

I think you're ok with making your own linking books and using the d'ni alphabet.
If you were going to distribute your stuff, or display it prominently, I think you'd probably want a license. It couldn't hurt, could it?

As long as you don't sell it... I'm 99.99999% sure that it's legal. It's just profiting or distributing from Cyan trademarks.

Yeah, making things for yourself and others is fine. They only care when money becomes involved. Also, at one point they were selling Riven memorabilia. You could buy Gehn's musket, the Riven dagger, and the ceremonial sickle.
