Well, what do we do now?
Is there any sense in a re-launch? Is a topic shift called for, now that we are facing a very different future?
Understanding leadership and authority in the Cavern seemed much more immediate a concern when we thought things were going to continue.
But everyone is seeing Uru differently now, and groups and relationships are evolving very rapidly, in unexpected ways.
There's been a great deal of anxiety that the "community" will be shattered - some people see this as a greater loss than the end of Uru the "game". I'm interested in exploring just what it is people value about the "community." What will they try to preserve? What will they let go? What do they need from other explorers? What are their hopes and plans? Is this community "real," or is it just people clinging together as the Titanic goes down? And if it is the latter, is it any less valid or have less of a future? Am I making any sense?
I would like to propose a forum series that will happen on a regular basis for the remaining time we have, perhaps on Sundays (which worked before) for, say, four weeks. This series would invite comment on the concerns everybody has right now. The planned leadership/authority topic could be in the series, if it seems appropriate.
Some important insights came out of the last forum: Horatio's age divide poll and thread was a real eye opener for a lot of people. I know it changed the way I thought about Uru. Who knows what we might build with with what we find next?
Maybe I'm in a minority, but I'm very hopeful this is not (forever) the end.
