Bahroglyphs are primitive drawings/paintings which depict, among other things, the various ages of Uru. It is not known who created these glyphs although it is speculated that Yeesha is the artist - for further information, see the Bahroglyph Study Group at the DLF (thanks to BrettM for this link).

The glyphs usually appear in groups and there are five of these scattered throughout Uru. Where it is not clear to me what the glyphs depict and I have made a guess, it will be followed by this symbol: (?)

The first group are seen once the explorer has entered the tree in the Cleft and are located on the walls around the pedestal holding the Relto book. They differ from the others in that they have a glowing and dimming cycle. The six glyphs depict:

a. Yeesha symbol (Yeesha's name in D'ni written in a circular form called a mandala)
b. The volcano
c. The cavern
d. Yeesha book symbol
e. The path of the shell (?)
f. Yeesha (this glyph is also found in the Bahro caves that have the Bahro pillars)

The second group are found in the tunnel that leads from the central hut to the prison in Teledahn and depict:

a. 3 Bahro, the third of whom is being tortured
b. Shroomie
c. Spiral cross

The third and most numerous group are the glyphs to be seen in Eder Kemo. Five glyphs are located behind the fountain and depict:

a. Teledahn
b. Gahreesen
c. The cavern (?)
d. Rebek
e. Kadish Tolesa

Two are located either side of the journey door: the left-hand glyph is called fish riders, also referred to as Kamkenta (see note at the end of this article), and the right-hand glyph is unknown but is the subject of much discussion and considered to be related to the floating sculpture.

Past the floating stone and near one of the journey cloths is a set of three glyphs which depict:

a. Quabs
b. Watery Ahnonay
c. Ahnonay spheres

There are four other glyphs that occur throughout Eder Kemo:

a. Behind the gazebo near the fountain - a single glyph called Bahro gathering
b. Over the entrance to the first tunnel, a group of three glyphs - not known what they depict (see comment from Teroglahn below that the second one may depict explorers surrounded by fireflies)
c. Behind the floating sculpture - a single glyph depicting Yeesha
d. On the ledge where the story of King Shomat and his brothers is found, a group of glyphs - not known what they depict

The fourth group of glyphs are found in the Bahro cave (see Bahro caves) that can be reached either via the Bahro stone in the pellet room in Er'cana or the fissure carving in Er'cana and depict the burner settings for the pellets.

The fifth group are found in the Bahro cave (see Bahro caves) that is reached via the Bahro stone in the Kadish control room on Ahnonay and are only visible when a pellet is dropped in the pool. It is speculated that these depict Yeesha's journey (see Bahroglyph Study Group).

In addition, there are two other Bahroglyphs that occur singly.

The first is a stone carving located on the Bevin balcony. It appears to depict the journey of Uru: ABM.

The second is a drawing depicting the relationship between the Bahro caves (see Bahro caves) reached from Er'cana and Ahnonay. It is located in the Kadish control room.

Many thanks to BrettM for identifying a number of these glyphs and advising accepted nomenclature, and for pointing out one which I had missed (Bahro gathering). Thanks to Teroglahn for directing me to Kamkenta - identification by Lincoln Imp in Kamkenta.

Since the release of Myst Online: Uru Live, additional glyphs have appeared and will be included in this article in due course. One interesting point to arise from MO:UL is the kamkenta. The kamkenta is an airborne creature from the Age of Kahlo, but it also bears a striking resemblence to sea-creatures found in Dereno - one of the pods released in MO:UL and located in the same age as Negilahn and Payiferen. It has yet to be determined if there is any link between the airborne kamkenta and the Dereno sea creature.
