Oy Vey…

Friday, March 18th, 2005

Well, that was rather unfortuitous… I finally get around to updating the Realm and DPWR’s domain expires. Blah.

We’re back now, and gods willing this won’t be a problem again come next March.

Some updates, since this has been a week of stuff-going-on…

I’m getting over a cold at the moment… have a nasty headache and a sore throat right now, but I’m otherwise getting better.

I bought a 23″ Apple Cinema Display this past week because I’m in the money, so to speak, and am eagerly awaiting a couple of payments from my web contract job so I can hook a dual 2 GHz G5 PowerMac up to it, because running Windows on a Cinema Display feels blasphemous somehow. On the bright side, though, my desktop has never looked so smooth.

I also, for the purposes of the web contract job, now have an eMac running on my chest of drawers, which puts the number of computers in my room at 3 now. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately, since it’s a baseline $799 eMac with not enough RAM and no SuperDrive), it’s not mine to keep, so I have to ship it back to the guy I’m doing this contract job for at the end of July. Of course, by then I’ll have the PowerMac hooked up to the Cinema Display and will have a fully-customized OSX desktop experience going on, bwahaha. That will also mean that I will no longer have the PC hooked up in here… it’ll probably get dragged out every now and then when I’m having a modeling urge, but given how little time I have for that right now, I have a feeling my desktop experience will be almost 100% cold-turkey (we’ll see how well migrating my IM stuff to OSX goes before comitting to that completely… might not have to have the laptop up and running anymore if things go really well).

I also have an official and (finally) legit copy of Photoshop 7 being shipped to me for the Mac, which means the only real tools I’m missing for the Mac are now MAX (which doesn’t exist, and I might look into playing with the Maya PLE instead) and some form of syntax-highlighting text editing tool for web development. If anybody knows of any free or not-really-expensive apps (BBEdit is expensive, I don’t want to shell out over 100 bucks for this) for the Mac, let me know :).

WTF?

What… the… fuck?
