Yes, they screw over the internet again… Wait… How? By providing backwards compatibility for the sites (face it, there are going to be a ton) that are built to cater to IE6’s shortcomings? How is that bad? By not forcing people to fix their sites and learn to be standards-compliant? Perhaps… But I thought when Microsoft forced people to do thing, it was equally bad?
It’s a transitional phase that Microsoft has to do because they screwed up with previous versions of their browser. Come on, they’re trying to fix the problem, but people STILL whine about how they’re screwing up. What would you do? Break the majority of websites and say “tough luck, you have to pay for our breaking standards so now your sites are broken because we fixed the problem.” Yeah… That’ll go over well.
But it’s Microsoft we’re talking about… Whatever they do, good or bad, is always bad, isn’t it?
